Default 2010: Rocker Panels to match ?

Just wondering if anyone has bought/painted their rocker panels to match their color instead of the standard black? Got pictures?

I am going to paint mine a really dark grey color pretty soon. I like the two tone look, but the plastic unfinished looks cheap.

I have seen someone's gold/yellow mustang with the painted panels a few dozen times, his looks good! I've seen a black stang paint match em too, and it looked great.

sorry I can't post pics, but I am sure some will soon.

Did you buy em or did you paint em? How hard were they to paint?

The rocker panels are the stock ones. They were painted not by me but a professional. Some say that painters do not like to paint them due to the "rough" texture and the paint cracking. I had someone that actually knew what they were doing not some idiot in the middle of nowhere. You have to make sure to have someone paint them that knows what they are doing. The one who did mine was a friend who owns a shop he does pinstriping and everything you can think of to cars. He has had experience painting plastic pieces 100's of times. The rocker panels have been on the car for a year now with no cracking on them or the rear valance.

That was my main concern, the cracking. Was curious if I could find smooth ones but I've been unable to find any online. Mine would be painted by a friend who is a pro, so that's a non issue, not sure if I'd like it though!

@pinn - thanks! That's the only picture I've been able to find myself, I like the look! Still not sure if I want to do it though!

Grabherblue I noticed you sent me a visitor message asking about my pinstriping on how I handled the body curves. Here are some not so good shots but still gives you the idea. I even have the running pony logo painted on there. It is not stamped this is actually hand painted with a hell of a small brush

Grabherblue...you will not regret doing this. If done right the paint will not crack. The painted panels give the car a unique, more muscular look. Some say it makes them look fat but it is just like the 05-09's having the whole bumper and the GT's having painted rocker panels. I would say go for it but then again it is your car and I am biased towards it.
