Those with Koni str. t shocks- Got a question

It may be normal for Koni, but this is certainly not normal for most shocks including OEMs. The corrosion is rather deep in the bottom connecting to the chassis. It's not just surface rust. I would suggest you buy some rust converter and brush onto the rust. The will stopped the rust progression and converts the rust into a black coating.

Thats the thing. None of that is metal. That's all rubber that the paint is flaking off of. No rust
