So my Mustang has ~23k miles on it, and is under warranty.
Just got back from Mahwah Ford where they say "Working as designed"
Here is the history.
Took my car there for air conditioner clicking, and whiny noise in second gear.
They tell me they have to take the transmission off.
So they take it off and replace all sorts of parts (see link to documentation).
the next week they call me back and tell me that they test drove it after putting the trans back on and the car isn't shifting right have they have to take the transmission back off again.
This is all over the course of a few weeks.
The next week I get a call and they tell me the transmission guy changed his mind and that there is nothing wrong and I can take it back.
I get it back, and it seems that I now have more problems than I brought it in with.
Gears 1 through 3 grind on normal stop and go driving. 2nd is by far the worst.
My car now drifts to the left. (video to come)
My stick shifter is off centered now, to the left, such that it rubs against the left side of the shifter box, you can feel the friction and there is noise.
Gear shifting is loud and clunky. Difficult to get into gears 1st and 2nd.
There have been numerous times where I have to glide through and intersection because I can't get it into second gear, nearly getting hit by other cars.
And now in 4th gear, there is a strong vibration, very noticeable above 4k rpm (video to come).
So I called ford customer caer and told them it doesn't seem safe to be driving this around. And they told me to take it back to the dealership.
So eventually they got the Ford field service engineer to come and drive it with the service manager.
I asked repeatably to ride with the tech and service manager to demonstrate the problem, they said that isn't necessary. I get a call again at work saying there is nothing wrong with the car, and to come pick it up.
Well I'll let you decide, here is the video.

and now, ford customer care is officially abandoning me, due to the so called involvment of this field service engineer. I doubt this guy even entered my car. And since Ford rebuilt my transmission, not a single person would drive with me in the car.

This is where a long term relationship with a service manager at a particular dealer comes in handy.
In this case, haev Deysha see if she can upgrade the concern level on this to a regional or area rep.
With me, the service manager knows me by name and by my voice over the phone. Anytime there are any doubts or potential disagreements in what I observe and what they find they will usually lean in my favor, not always but then when I am wrong, I am wrong.

I'd try another dealer. When I lived in San Diego I bought 2 2000 3.8s new. One had a problem with the rear end whining. I tried several dealers over several months and got the run around. I took it to Heller Ford in Escondido, they greeted me with a smile, took the car, gave me a ride home and had the problem fixed the next day. They replaced most of the internal parts in less than a day. I drove the car 192,000 miles and never had a problem with their repair! There are amazing dealers out there. Can we start a list of dealers (and service managers) that we have had good experiences with?
