I am really happy with my Hurst but it is not designed for quick/fast slammed like shifts as the notchy feel works against that.
Short throw shifters are really there to help you synchronized your shifts especially downshifting before cornering etc...
I don't know if it make sense to you guys but those that have road racing experience will relate to what I'm saying.

So for drag racing: No. You're better off with an auto anyway.

It is the top shifting mechanism in the transmission, my car had the same problem. When cold it would not shift into gear but of course when warm by the time I got to the dealer the problem would disappear! The dealer finally found the problem, the upper shift mechanism including the shift forks was wearing and the fork would hit rather than engage the gears of the upper shaft. Luckily, my car is under warranty so the problem is slowly being fixed, it seems the upper shaft is mislabeled as far as its part number! I had previously had the flywheel, clutch, clutch master and slave cylinders and throwout bearing replaced or rebuilt, even put in Mobil 1. It is the shifting forks causing all the problems with the T5 shifting!

In general, our T5s are a pos

I used to have that problem with the stock unit. After a Saleen STS and Amsoil ATF, the problem is signifigantly reduced.
