Default ABS and Brakes

Ok so I have been looking into a big break system for my mustang. It's a 2008 V6. I have seen that pretty much all of them say "will not fit car without ABS". I thought all cars came is ABS. From what I have read, my car doesn't have ABS. I am not 100% on this. But if it doesn't have ABS where do I get the parts to give it ABS? Help please. Thanks.

Do you have a "TCS" button on the center stack - upper right? If not, then you don't have ABS. The other spot to check is under the hood; the ABS box is in front of the air box and you will see all of the ABS brake lines running out of it. You can see it in front of the heat shield

If you don't have it, it isn't something that is added easily. You need sensors on the rotors, the control box, reprogram the computer ............. etc. It isn't just a "buy this box and put it in plug and play" type of thing.

I installed GT500 brembos on my non abs v6. In order to use any aftermarket lines on a non abs mustang you need this adapter.
http://www.race-mart.com/Russell-RUS-640513.html it requires rebending on the hard brake lines but they are made to be shaped. (the bracket took me about a week to find) and until then i just used my stock lines in the meanwhile which hook up to the brembo calipers just fine. just remember to replace the copper/brass crush washers on the banjo bolts.

@BWfVA --- All of the 8.8 rear ends come with the ABS tone rings - but they don't cause any problems on the swap if you don't have ABS.

This by far has been the most helpful post I have read. I have been searching for 4 months on how to hook up my non-abs to a pair of Brembo brakes. I know the passenger lines are the same as the abs but adapters are needed for the drivers side.

thank you thank you thank you.
