Default 3650 Swap: Do I really need to cut the DS?

Well, I finally got my TR3650 and 8.8 Axle with 3.55's from Indiana today. A super cool guy named Cody was the previous owner that sadly got his 07 rear ended at 6,000 miles. There's heartbreak.

Long story short, he posted the trans and rear on Ebay noting the miles as not a typo...I think no one believed it...no bids...really good price. I bit. They arrived today and although I had already checked mileage via VIN out of Ebay paranoia, it turns out both appear to be in practically new condition. So...with Nice Pony's swap kit due to arrive tomorrow, I couldn't be more thrilled.

I purchased a Roush GT drive shaft for this swap. (brutally strong piece)

The question:

Will I have to shorten this jewel of a driveshaft to do the swap with this combo? I'd rather not to keep the factory welds.

This drive shaft is rated to 7700 rpm and....wait for it...3000 lbs of torque, as well as bieng 12 lbs lighter than stock and made of top fuel dragster quality steel. Hence my moment of sawing pause

Will post pics of the build soon... it's coming together folks.

If your driveshaft does need to be shortened or lengthened you can give us a call me manufacturer those same shafts and are rated for the same strength and RPM. We are capable of re-welding your shaft with the same quality you will be needing to hold 11 second passes.

call me at 480-898-1957 if there is anything we can do for you
