I need a little info- I'm building an exhasut system from the manifolds back on a 4.6 DOHC engine (02 Cobra). There is a spiral wound gasket between the manifold and the head pipe on the passanger side. I have the manifold and the gasket but not the matting flange. I'll be building the matting flange and need to know what the required gasket crush is for this joint. Does anyone know what it is ??

I would see if I could get a flange before I make one. I am sure it would be easy to get from a junkyard or the h-pipe you are removing.

I don't have the H pipe to canabalize the flange from, that's why I anticipate building the flange. As for wrecking yard procurement, there aren't a lot of these exhaust systems in the yards and when you do find one, the wrecking yards are reluctent to let you take the flange, they want to sell the whole system as a unit (for big bucks). If anyone out there has a flange that I can buy from them, let me know. Or if anyone has a flange that they can measure and send me the dimensions, that would be just as good. Thanks<

Have you checked your local muffler shops? These guys stock a lot of flanges.
