Power Steering w/ ignition off

Power Steering w/ ignition off
Here's the deal:
If I want to say, sneak out of my garage at night without turning on the engine and having the exhaust rumble blow my cover, would turning the steering wheel with ignition off cause ANY damage to ANYTHING? All I know is that without the engine running, the power steering isn't on so turning the wheel will be more difficult, which I can put up with. My only concern is if I'm ****in anything up or not.
Thank you for any feedback.

RE: Power Steering w/ ignition off
You should just park down the street a few houses, then all you have to do is sneak yourself out...hahah...This shouldn't cause any damage. The only problem is it might be hard to steer and push at the same time...

RE: Power Steering w/ ignition off
Yeah... maybe I am one of the lucky ones, but when my car just sits in the garage w/o it being in gear or having the brake on, it rolls back towards the door, not much but just a little.
I was bored one day so when I left to go for a ride the car rolled back when I disengaged the parking brake so I just opened my door and stuck my size 13 out and gave it a firm push, then turned that son of a bitch and I was on my way! Plus my driveway is on the steeper side. My car just kind of coasts down towards the street and rolls on for a bit. Except getting back home at like 2 AM isn't going to work real smooth since I need to rev it up some to get back up the damn thing, so yeah I'll probably just get a ride like mustang_montana said.
Good advice though. Thanks.
