it might be the injectors, mine do it too...oh and my friends 99 does it also....try pressing the clutch for the TOB like dudeman said uptop

does the ticking sound like a baby rattle almost? i needed to run a higher octane after my dynotune... i am lazy right now and ddidn't check to see if you have any mods done....

NORMAL - dont worry about it .... if its so faint that you cant hardly notice - its normal esp. if you have a full exhaust.. if it sounds like a deisel - you have a problem my friend

Did anybody read this??? It is pretty important info reqarding Ford Waranty and the ticking noise.

Unplug each injjector one at a time. if the sound stop then it is just and injector. If it doesnt stop then spun rod bearing. I had the same tick as you just described and it was bad. Now I have a new engine kinda
