If its the battery, most of the time it won't click....it will try to turn over verrrrry slowly, and the lights will dim out. If its the starter or the realy or will click. Get someone to crank it while you stand by the fuse box, if the clicking sounds like its coming from that box, its the relay. Sometimes they will click themselves when the signal does not travel all the way to the starter to make it engage.

I mentioned earlier that it does click, it seems to be two spots. the fuse box underhood and somewhere near the passenger fender. the clicking doesnt sound like other clicking ive heard from bad starter selenoids or anything like that...

i would like it to be the battery i just dont think it is since everything else is powered up and all...

if its clicking in the box...it really sounds the relay could be bad. THere should be a relay and a fuse. More than likely it would be the relay. When you try and crank do your light go really dim, likes is dying. Cause eventually that battery should give out, if its already low.

Well im in class right now so i cant check if the lights get dim. however im fairly certain they do not. my first thought was the relays, there are 5 three large ones and 2 small ones and ive switched them all around thinking one was bad but it didnt seem to have any effect, if it matters my rear defroster doesnt work either.

damn, ive been told by mechanics that sometimes starters get dead spots and you can hit em with a hammer and sometimes get it to start, id try it if i could get more than an arm under the front end....i hope its not the starter i dont have a place to fix it, freakin apartments.

i would put money on the relay...or even the starter itself. Because the solenoid is mounted on the starter, so it could be bad. You can test it before you replace (starter)....Directly jump the starter on the positive wire on the solenoid. If it cranks the solenoid is bad, it would crank because you just bypassed it. Therefore the entire starter would have to be replaced or rebuilt
