Default Would this work?

I was thinking about getting a 5.4Lmotor out of a wrecked F-series pickup, put forged internals in it, port and polish my 4.6L heads, add some blower cams, and a blower. Would 4.6L 2v heads fit on a F-series 5.4L block? Or would it just be a good idea to get the 5.4L heads ported and polished?

5.4 2v heads and 4.6 2v heads are the same.

Sweet, ok. Time to start looking for a block and start saving for the goodies.

The problem that you will have will be that you will need the F-150 intake because I believe that it is a wider intake.

I can get a complete 5.4L that needs to be rebuilt for about $450, if you pay shipping on it I will go down and buy it and have them ship it from their doc.

Its in springfield Mo, so if your close to this area just go pick it up.

I dont think they come with Intake's or accessories but everything else is there.

if your going 5.4 theres no need to keep the 2v heads get the 5.4 4v all the money you spend on porting the 2v's just to flow 200cfm you can have a set of 4v heads that flow that stock and can be ported to 300+cfm's with that much displacement its better off the 4v version but, you do not need the manifold off of that there is a place that sells the adapter for your 4.6 manifold to go onto the 5.4 heads

Your also going to need a bigger blower to support XXX whp with the larger displacement. So far I have yet to be impressed by power increases of going with a 5.4L.

That is becuase you have guys using 2v heads or keeping the stock 2v heads on a larger dispalcement block when they already are the horsepower restricter on a smaller engine like the 4.6
