So is this a triton 5.4 or a built one? What intake did you go with?
Ha, no that's actually my roommate. It's a triton 5.4. I didn't have the funds this time around for the built short block. The engine only has 12,000 miles on it though. I need to upgrade the transmission first. Stupid T-45
What kind of power can a stocker 5.4 hold before its a time bomb??? If it will save me some money in the short run before I build my motor I may do it as well.
isnt the 5.4 like 2 inches taller than the 4.6? are there any clearance issues with the hood or suspension?
It actually has a 1" taller deck height. If you were to use the stock triton 5.4 intake I don't think it would clear the hood. The only thing hitting my hood is the s/c.

I remember you talking about the swap a while back - it's inspiring man! Makes me start thinking about dropping a 5.4 in mine.
Hey, thanks alot. If anyone every has any questions on the in's and outs of the swap I would be glad to answer them. It's pretty straight forward but there are some snags.

I am using the lower intake from a lightning and I'm going to make a block off plate on the top with 3/8" aluminum. Then mount my throttle body and upper plenum on that. I'm not sure how it's going to work but we'll see when it gets on the dyno.
