Default Tach Help

Ok there is something wrong with my tach in my 98 GT... When I am driving down the road... and say I am going at 2000rpms... well my tach will say that but then all of a sudden it will jump to like 3500 or just any other random number... Sometimes it will just stick there and not move... Most of the time ... I will kinda tap the front plastic that is on the cluster and it will go back to where it needs to, but a few seconds later it will act up again... Do you guys think this is either a bad tach, loose connection, or their is something that is inside the cluster I cant see?? I belive on the 98's the tach is electrical and the speedometer is run buy a cable... I need help!!! Ben

Default RE: Tach Help

sounds definatly like a wiring connection issue. tappin on the glass lead me to that , cause you are probably altering the loose connection when you do that causing it to shift. you'll have to troubleshoot it to find out for sure.
