Any good name brand is going to be good now a days. ie. PPG, Dupont, Sherwin Williams, House of Kolor. I use PPG because I get the best deal on it in town here. As for guns, A gravity feedHVLP is great for your base coat, but for your clear coat, a lot of guys like to use a conventional gravity feed. They say they have too may little defects with the HVLP on the clear coat. Brand wise,if you can afford it, go with SATA, there expensive, but they lay a nice pattern. I have a Sharpe, but have sprayed with a few SATA guns and love the heck out of them compared to mine.

ahh will do a search on the sata i have used devillbiss most of the time but like i said time has passed me by and i need to catch up thanks for the tips as for the paint yeah sikkens has been one of my favorites because back then i remeber being able to rub out a car after 24 hours ..as far as base coat and clear coats , as far as the clear coat goes the nice thing about that is if you lay enough coats down you can wet sand it and buff it out as long as it isn't in the base coat...plus the sikkens is so flexible great for shooting vetts and boats ..thanks no to find a dealer around here in dearborn michigan that has a good deal on both the paints and equipment like painters helper if they still exist in lincoln park...rogerwilco
