Default One tire fire?

Well I went to go roast the last of my old tires today and I came to find I only left one line of rubber.
The car usually will spin both tires but was wondering if this is common for the 8.8 rear end.

It's only common if your limited slip is worn out. Sounds like time for a rebuild.

+1 your limited slip is gone. I'd either get it rebuilt or buy an eaton one if you want something a little better...hell if you have the money just get an eaton 31 spline with 31 spline axles.

sounds like the same problem i had on mine, i ended up just going with the Eaton posi and Moser 31 spline axles instead of rebuilding the stock piece. my stock rear end got so bad that, even in 2nd gear, when i'd go full throttle you could tell only one wheel was driving because the back of the car felt really unstable. after replacing the differential, with no other changes at all other than diff and axles, the problem went away. it's not a cheap upgrade, i paid about $950 including labor and parts (got a new bearing and seal kit and everything too while i was at it).

you can get the 03-04 cobra lsd. the kit is carbon fiber friction plates and a much stiffer spring. it has like 4 times the holding power of the standard lsd in the gt. no more 1 wheel peels for me.
i paid $110 or so
i forgot what website i got it from...... check ford racing.
