Default Why is this happening to me

Purchased a 2000 mustang gt in 2001. Car had 30,000 miles on it (yikes!). At around 70K plusmiles or soI had to replace the crank.... engine started knocking. Ok fine. After the rebuild all is good. Loved the car again. Motor was tight. Now again after about 60k miles I'm hearing ticking noises. Sounds like an exhaust leak. AT 2000 rpm you can hear it. Took it to a shop and they tell me its bearings. They are telling me I need a new crank. I'm like you must be kidding I just replaced this thing 60k miles or so ago. What could be causing this? The car is stock except for gears and exhaust. I change the oil regularly. Oil pressure is good. Any Ideas. I'm taking the car for a third opinion. This is my 5th mustang. The other 4 were 302's (5.0). I never had problems like this.

Could be the lash adjusters and guidesas well. Depends on where the ticking is coming from.

You can't hear anything at idle. Only when under a load. Sound like its coming from the bottom of the car. I don't hear it from the top.

Stop taking your car to shady mechanics. They saw a sucker and took a vacation with their families after you paid your bill.

They just replaced the crank? They didn't do anything else?

So were they supposed to replace more than the crank? They told me it was bearing. I saw the parts after they got the part out. It was deffinetly bad.

well hopefully it wasnt a part from someone elses car that they showed you and just replaced something that was making noise like th ebearings and left the crank, look for a local mustang shop bring it there, tell them you want the work warranteed and get ti done right so you can enjoy your car again...good luck man, **** liek that happens to me all the time to, better off gettin it done right by some one reputable

You mentioned upgraded exhaust. I'd start there for your Tick. a Tick is usually exhaust or electrical arc. A grind, knock, or thumpingis usually bearing. Check the EGR pipes that go into the headers too.
