Default V1 fuel pump question

Hi all,

When I install my 98 GT V1 kit I will be using the Focus fuel pump. Will this fit in the stock location in the tank, or will I have to mount it externally? If it fits in the tank, will the wiring harness work as well? It would be nice not having to jack with wires and relays yadda yadda.

Any help is appreciated

I think 98 has its own fuel system that is different than any other year but I don't know about it. Anyways, free bump.

You are correct, 98s' are diff, but the Focus pump will work. What I need to know is if I can put it in the stock location in the tank and ues the exsisting wirin harness, or do I have to mount it externally and run wires and a relay.

I dont know if it will be close to yours but with my 02 it was a direct replacement and with a 99 all we had to do was splice in the supplies wire connector and its a direct replacement

Thanks, so it should fit in the basket and I may or may not have to splice the supply wires, not so bad.

Ya, its kind of a pain to get it out of the basket. i think there are 3 or so clips you have to pull out.
