Default what size tires and does castercamber plates fix to much negative camber

Have 2000 gt with cobra svt 17 inch wheels. How large of a rear tire will fit on rim and tire without any issues? Also did alignment on car today and car has to much negative camber basically a full degree off. Will installing castercamber plates fix problem? Bought car with springs in it. They are called gripp springs which I never heard of. I dont even know if they lowered car much more than an inch if you ask me. Thanks in advance for any input

CC plates will let you adjust out that negative camber.

are you trying to go WIDE for your rear tires?, you can go as big as Nitto DR 315's on a 9" wide wheel (theyre small for 315's so it fits) for an everyday driving performance tire, you can go 285 safely but 275 is most common.

Depending on your driving needs and budget for replacement tires, you may want to LEAVE that 1° of neg. camber as it will aid in the twisties. You will get some increased wear on the inner edge of tire, so this is where your replacement budget comes into play.

I DON'T recommend a 315 on an 9" wheel as I think this is a poor fit and a waste of a 315. I recommend no larger than a 275 (widest recommended for nearly all tire manufacturers), but a 265 is a wonderful fit for a 9" wheel.

I just ordered a set of Eibach Pro springs. I am hoping that the alignment can be done. i really don't want to have to fork out another $150. I daily driving in the car. I don't plan on taking it to the track. So hopefully it will be good.

If you are using it for daily driver I would say get the CC Plates.

The only thing that bothers me about possibly leaving the negative camber is i feel a looseness at highway speeds almost as if the car will take any imperfection in the road. Will removing that negative camber eliminate that???

My car does the same thing. My negative camber is so bad that it wore the inside of the tire to the point of exposed wires. So no more driving until I get the spring set. The guy who dropped it did it terrible. No alignment or anything. just cut the damn springs.

I would go with 255s on your front tires. i have 275 on the back and 255 on the front. Nice stance to it.
