^ headers in general for our cars are not worth the cost unless your buying it used from somebody. There have been many threads on this forum discussing how much of a waste either option is the stock ones flow quite well. Headers should be the last mod on the list when in your quest for power. just my .02 cents.

Since shorty's pretty much give you no power would you guys say they will at least add hp/tq if your running some kind of FI?

I already posted my numbers and they are pretty impressive for stock manifolds. No one will ever convince me they are needed when you're not totally maxed out on other mods.

My buddy with the same mods still made the same numbers as I did with FR shorties. And he actually only my 428 and I made 436 but that's not because of the headers. (+/- 10hp is nothing on a dyno and as far as I'm concerned is the wiggle room) The only other difference in mods at the time was my 75mm TB vs. his 70mm TB, he had Vforce mufflers and I had Dronemasters.

Headers wont hurt Hp but for the money they're not a big enough of a gain.

The Tone is a little deeper though.

I've actually done this. Most people who say they don't agree haven't even done it or they only say do it because they already wasted their money on shorties and don't want to admit they should have waited for LT's. Wait till you're out of other mods. Go with shorties as a last resort and when you need to stay 50 state legal.

i put on my bbk shorty headers about 6 months ago... i had to lift the motor about and inch i just took off my strut tower brace and lifted it just enough to clear the headers... just know the header gaskets that usually come with the headers are really cheap.. i'd say buy percy aluminum gaskets to ensure a seal and prevent future leaks.. and remember to retighten the bolts after a couple days use just to make the install final...
