would it be ok to drive it with its current tank? i never put in anything but 91-93 (whatever the highest at the station)

i can eat this tank, just worried in doing so i could damage the motor.

Do not eat the tank as metal and gasoline is not healthy for our bodies. lol Just listen out for the pinging. If you hear the noisy/ping back the throttle off til its gone. Drive it grandma style. Then change different gas. Damage can occur if motor is constantly pining or if driven in sporadic pinging for many months/years. I had a F150 5.0l that pinged bad when i would use regular fuel. I had to use 93 octane for it only to ping in full throttle. But sometimes i had to use 87 when the gas was crazy high. Drove it like that for 4 years and it still cruises...But i wouldn't recommend driving your mustard like i drove my old truck.

lol nice...

but yeah i drove it, got the tank below the 1/2 mark and filled it with some 93 sunoco. It still pings when i try to make it, (at really low rpm in 5th) but for the most part, it has calmed down. I think once i go through this tank, and fill up again, it should be ok (i hope)

it was a decent difference in driving. soo im hoping the tune is ok, and i just got a bad batch of gas

I got some bad gas one day.. (as soon as i put it in started sputtering was horrible). After I drove it a little bit to get some of it out I threw in a Few Bottles of Octane booster and it worked fine after that....(I know it only Brings fuel up .0X but it definitely helped)

Bet that "meshing" sound will go away if you revert back to stock tune. I have a 2003 auto GT with just exhaust and a custom tune from SCT and I get a "meshing" noise from where the tranny meets the engine whenever I punch it. Everything runs great and pulls fine though. When I went back to stock tune to make my computer forget its adaptive learning I noticed this meshing noise was completely gone. I just assume the tune changes how some of the mechanics work a bit in the drivetrain.

it has to be something with the octane, because once i changed my gas, it stopped doing it (as much) soo i'm just worried it could damage the engine.
