engine management?
Hello everyone! believe it or not I just recently found this site LOL, been on modularmisfits, modularfords, mustang forums, mustangcentral etc... for a little while though. Anyways....
I am building a turbo 4.6L DOHC 4V to put into my 1973 Mach One and I was wondering what you guys would suggest for engine management. I am looking for a "cheaper" setup but one that can be tuned and everything as well. My engine was originally out of a Mark VIII so it is a Teksid block. Forged Cobra crank, H-beams, forged pistons, sticking with B heads and running a Cobra intake, 55lb injectors (planning to run about 50psi fuel pressure), aeromotive fuel rails, aeromotive A1000 fuel pump, single -10 up to a Y with -8 going to the rails and the turbo is a "smaller" 70mm unit, I am hoping the smaller sized turbo might help a little on the low end since that seems to be where the B heads slack.
All I have "wiring wise" is the Mark VIII engine harness that came with the motor. Someone said just to use a stock ECM/harness, others have said that won't work without messing with PATS and some "fuel alarm" which will cost enough that I could have done an aftermarket setup so. I was thinking Megasquirt is always a god way to go. I'd like as "plug and play" as possible because I am about sick of wiring! I just finished a SBF/C4/N2O build, prior to that was a 3.4L DOHC (LQ1) turbo Fiero build and I am in the process of installing all new wiring in the Mach One as well so I am about all "wired out"!
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
