Question on ABS light
Hi everyone. New to the forum, and new to owning a mustang.
I just bought a 1996 Mustang GT, and I'm in the Army, stationed in Germany. Here in Germany, your car must pass a safety inspection to be able to be driven on base. When I bought the car, about 10 miles into the trip home, the ABS light came on. I plan to find and fix the problem with the ABS, but I will have to order parts from the US, and I have to have the car inspected by Monday of next week.
My question... How can I get to the ABS bulb to pull it out temporarily to pass this inspection? I plan on fixing the problem, but I won't have enough time to get parts here before the inspection. Anyone know?
Thanks in advance!

There are two fuses that run the ABS and lights. One is a 50 amp under the hood near the drivers shock tower (at least in the '99+ models) and another small one under the dash. You can pull the bulp from behind the dash lens and will not be visable either.
The ABS light might be triggered by differing diameter tires. Typically, a 1" variation will trigger the light.
Can you post up your tire sizes both front and rear? (all three sizes please)

PS. Welcome to MF's and thank you for your service!

I will post the tire sizes when I get a chance to get out there. Thanks for the response. I've tried pulling the fuse under the hood, but the light still stays on. I haven't tried the one under the dash though. I will look for it shortly. I've noticed just two screws to get the cover over the speedometer/odometer/bulbs off. Is that all I have to do to pull that bulb?
Thanks for your help, and thank you for your support!

I have not taken my dash apart in a while, so forget exactly how many screws, but was easy to do. There are 2 multi-pin plugs on back and just pull the out via little clips. You can hold the dash up to sunlight and see which part of the lens holds the ABS bulb and just pull it out. You can look in your manual and will say which fuse runs the ABS light, IIRC and see what else may be on that fuse. I think the dome light and maybe fog lights or something.
