part of my personal reasoning is, without mentioning the forums/articles i've read in the past, that if you have a firewall adjuster, why would you need an adjustable cable? they esentially do the same thing, correct? why would you need two adjustable references for one function?

Agreed--the only reason would be if one of the other did not offer sufficient range, or if both were designed to only accommodate only a portion of the needed range. To the best of my knowledge neither of these apply to the various clutch actuation systems offered for our cars.

I think the "kits" come with adjustable cables because the after market cables are mostly all adjustable, and cost less; as in they are "cheaper" than the OEM cable, however...

Thanks guys for the responses. And for the link to that write up. I think the best way for me to go for now is to adjust it per the write up and then in a couple weeks I plan on ordering a bunch of parts I'll add in a firewall adjuster with a new quadrant and forget about the adjustable cable.

If you look, I never actually said anything about recommending an adjustable cable, just the FW adjuster and the quadrant...I am not disagreeing with you on that fact you listed above. You don't need both. Besides, the OEM is def. the better cable.

Adjusted the quadrant one notch last night and it appears to have fixed the issue! Im still probably going to get a new quadrant and firewall adjuster, I'll make sure to use an OEM cable. Thanks everyone for the help.

you and 04bluegt both questioned my original statement about not getting a FWA and adjustable cable simultaneously, saying stuff such as "says who?" or "since when?" so i figured i'd elaborate more to let you guys understand my personal reasoning.

Nope, I sure didn't. I just stated that "I" had never heard of someone recommending against it. I am very far from being an expert, so I had nothing really so say on the issue. No offense intended then or now.

And dude, love that color on your car.
