Oh word, thanks guys. I dont have much room/tools here at school, but back home my buddy has a lift and air tools, I'll see if we cant replace the TOB this summer. I feel better now that I dont have to spend 700 on a new clutch and install now!

When you in there, just tke a peek at the clutch disc to make sure the rivets arent close...thats basically your wear markers on a clutch. A Ford TOB is like 40$, and dont buy any other TOB other than factory

I would most defiantly replace the clutch & flywheel if you take the transmission down for the TOB.

And the TOB will only really make noise when the clutch is disengaged, when its in gear you wont really hear it. Oh, and that noise means that your TOB isnt really going bad, more that it is already fubared and needs to be replaced yesterday. Mine made that same noise as yours "occasionally" and it came out as 1000 pieces when we took the tranny down.

damn that bad? Well just got off the phone with Fastlane, and they said itd be $250 in labor to replace the TOB.. and same to replace a new clutch. Maybe now is the time to teach my little brother how to drive a manual!

$250 isnt bad, do you have LT's? I paid $300 for labor and $300 for the new clutch

Correct to a point. sometime TOB noise is caused by TOB rubbing fingers of Preasure plate. After market adjuster like BBK or Steeda will fix the problem.

Buddy and I put a clutch in his 99 Mustang (clutch was worn) we used a Kingcobra clutch with a FORD TOB and after the job was done it still made a TOB chirp. Then he bought a adjuster and install it and noise (chirp) was gone.

So really TOB noise dont mean its Fubar always.

the chirp was gone after buying the adjuster because he adjusted it enough so the tob made contact with the fingers all the time, mine chriped and did the same thing, but in his video its not a tob chirp because the car is off

Yeah I was surprised with that quote, for sure. I have stock manis, so they wont have to mess with all that, probably why its so low.

What clutch did you get? Fastlane says they carry ram in stock, but can order just about everything
