Default one click no start. Can't figure it out.

Hey guys, My car is being temperamental with starting. In the fall of last year I went to start my car, got the on click, fiddled around trying to figure out the issue, got back in and it started. A couple months later it did it to me again. Then it didn't happen again until about a month and a half ago and it wouldn't start again.

I figured it was the starter. I changed it. No dice. Still one click no start.

Changed the ignition switch in the base of the column and the car started right up. Was fine for about three weeks. Today went to start it when I stopped for gas. One click no start.

Jumping it doesn't get it going, changed the starter, changed the ignition switch, checked the old starter and it tested fine so know it isn't the starter. I can pop the clutch to get it going and the clutch switch for starting is working fine cause when I engage far enough I get one click, when I back out a little nothing.

What are some possibilities here?

Might be looking at a loose connection, perhaps at the battery. Maybe look for some corrosion as well and have the battery load tested. Id check the wiring from the battery on both sides, including the grounds.

Make sure the groundstrap from the motor to the body is nice and solidly bolted down. I went through the same thing when I swapped my motor. As well as what steve mentioned.

Thanks gents! I've had a few people mention the wiring and grounds, so looks like that is where I am headed.

Thanks again!
