what is this little box I found under my shifter? speedo recal?

what is this little box I found under my shifter? speedo recal?
Anyone know what this little device is that I found under my shifter? It appears to be plugged into the harness which leads to the transmission. I am going to assume it is a speedo recal?

Yup, Brothers Performance BROSPEEDCAL.
I lived in TO from late '64 'til late '66--Yonge Street area of course, being the 60s--bet it has changed...
