If you leave the cap on and warm up the motor your stuck because if you remove the cap once the motor is hot boiling hot coolant will come spewing out of the radiator. Not a pretty sight.

Anyway, you attach the pressure tester to the radiator to pressurize the system. As Stevo86 mentioned, the hot coolant won’t burt the tool. Just be careful removing the tool, and make sure all the pressure has been bled off before removing it otherwise the radiator will spew like old-faithful. Good luck...

I get what youre saying. you have to remember the 4.6 mustangs do not have the standard radiator cap. We have a reservoir pressure cap. I was taking it you wanted to leave this off.

There should be an adapter for that cap in the kit. My snap-off set has one that screws right into it.

Hey guys hadnt looked at this thread. All it was was i found the leak at work. What has happened is... a while back changing plugs in the car the plastic nipple that the heater core hose clamps onto on the intake crumbled. So i made a redneck fix for the nipple and the hose clamp needed to be tightened because the clamp had sunk into the rubber on the hose. So problem solved.
