I have a 96 Mustang GT and whenever the battery is connected the lights in the back are on as if I am pressing the brakes myself. I have already replaced the brake light switch and still having the same problem. I've looked at a ton of other forums and they all seem to say something different. Hoping someone that knows a couple of reasons this could happen would help me.

We can’t diagnose it from our keyboards. You will have to get dirty. Most likely its a short somewhere in the brake light circuit. Good luck...

did you make sure you installed it correctly on the pedal? odds are the multi-function switch is bad (turn signal stalk assembly)
