Default Any of you guys ever break a clutch cable?

I just broke my second clutch cable and was wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them. There is this tube that sticks down at an angle out from the firewall which the clutch cable goes through, it seems to be rubbing against that tube because it is breaking near the beginning of the cable (near the top of the clutch pedal). I'm going to try and modify that tube so that the cable doesn't rub against it. anymore. Should a stock clutch cable from a place like advance be fine? I had a steeda cable on before

Also, is there a difference between the stock cable and one that you use with a firewall clutch adjuster?
