it seems next to impossible to install header on the 4.6 they seem buried i have a 1999 gt and i want to do headers do you have to raise the engine or something?/

It's probably easier to drop the K-member.
If you have the money, it would be a good time to switch over to a tubular K-member with coil overs while you install the LT's.

'all i can add is that its worth it if YOU do the work and if you go ceramic (do it the right way the first time, percy's gaskets, stage 8 locking header bolts and the ceramics to keep underhood temperature down)

depends on how much air you want to move. for example, if your going to s/c your car, then you'll definetly want to get some lt headers. but for everyday driving you dont really need them, if your really racing where ever hp/tq count then go for it and buy some lt.
just get an o/r x pipe and you should be fine...

i picked up about 9RWHP on a built & blown GT. they weren't really worth the price vs performance, but no mods on a 2v really are except FI.
