My mom has the mach 1000 in her car. i upgraded my mach 460 with a pioneer deck, alpine 500w amp, and alpine 10" sub. The sub sounds best right in the middle of my trunk and sounds waayy better than my mom's mach 1000..weighs less too!

Give it a few years, you'll get tired of the bass.
+1.. i used to have a bad *** setup in my car with custom fiberglass boxes to mold everything into the trunk to keep the trunk usable.. but no matter how hard I tried I couldnt stop the trunk from rattling and it just got old.

Went back to stock.. just left my speakers in and I couldnt be happier.

I have the Mach 1000 and recently had to remove it to get my trunk panels out. That thing is HEAVY. If you are looking to upgrade sound, look at what you already have: Your Mach 460 already has 4 subs and 4 tweets and 2 amps. Upgrade your factory speakers and your factory amps. Get a good component set for the front with a good tweet and a good midrange, then get rid of your rear subs and open up that cavity to stuff some 8inch woofers in there and replace your rear tweets with a decent midrange. 8inch subs in that factory box will be absolutely fine. Then get yourself a 4 channel amp that you can also bridge (your two oem amps only put out 230 watts rms). Run two channels to the front, two to the rear and use your bridge to run the 8's in the rear. You will have one CLEAN awsome sounding system without the unnecessary box taking up your space. The big challenge would be to find the specific components that YOU want to use. Name brand doesn't usually mean much if you aren't familiar with their products. Go to a dispaly wall and hear them all. If you can't hear a difference amongst them; just buy the cheapest.

I'm only keeping the Mach 1000 because if I didn't, I would just be opening a can of worms that I put away many years ago.

**edit: Oh yeah, get some bass blockers for the rear mids and a low pass filter for the subs. The components will already come with a crossover.

I believe I have an Infiniti sub with a custom ported box for trunk, can't remember which one, that I got put on there probably about 4 years ago, with an Audiobahn amp. I don't play it as much as I used to. Sometimes I think about taking it out because of all the trunk space it takes up. Oh and it's connected to the stock 6 disc cd changer.
