Default 2000 Mustang GT Swap

I have a 2000 Mustang GT (Manual Transmission) just sitting in the driveway because my engine went out. It had a stock 4.6L and I finally got serious about getting it running again. I would like to swap for the same engine if not a slightly bigger one. My budget for the engine alone is at about $3000-$3500. I want to see what you guys would suggest for me, and where I could find such engines for sale. As long as its newer than a 2000 and running Im fine with it

Thanks in Advance

I am sure with that amount of money you can throw in a nice used 99/01 cobra engine... really easy...

Pick up a mmr mod 600 shortblock and if your old heads/cams didn't get damaged slap them on or if they did pick up a set if used pi heads, easy to obtain for cheap.

Wow I would have thought that they were more, thanks alot!!
Im going to start the search for the Cobra 4v then, if anyone has more ideas of where to look, I would greatly appreciate it. I live in Los Angeles just in case there is any local sellers.
And as of now I just want to get it running again, but I am definitely planning on building on it in the near future.
