I've always been under the impression that it was 3 gallons or so. But I could be wrong

When my light comes on, I am usually already looking for a Chevron. I usually end up with about 13.5~14 gallons to purchase. The tank is 15.5 gallons (what it needed when empty on my pump change), so nearer to 2 gallons is where mine is.

Yeah mine usually goes on E with about 2.5 gallons left in there still bc i fill up with 13-13.5 and its a 15.7 gallon tank. I need to go drive some more so i can get this E light on! haha

rule of thumb is that there is 2 gallons left in the gas tank when the low fuel light comes on.

Yup, mine has about 2.25-2.5 gallons left when my light comes on. It is NOT uncommon for me to put 14.5 gallons in when I fill it up, but I FILL it until I can see fuel at the top of the filler tube.

Here in jersey they pump it for me do I can't see how high it's filled! I have 210 miles on my tank and I still have 1/4 tank. There is no way this is right. Usually my e light is on by now

Maybe you are getting better fuel mileage now
Did you replace the fuel filter when the new pump went in?

Not the most likely explanation, but you can always hope.

With my mods I still get about 260+ miles before my light comes on.

Fuel filter was replaced as well... My e light finally turned on with 260 miles. Took me 14.6 to fill up...

So i guess it's correct! I used to only fill up with 13.5 gallons max most of the time. So now it's taking an extra gallon. MPG is about the same -- 18mpg with 70% highway. I usually dont go 70mph though haha
