Default Resonators vs slim "bullet" type mufflers?

Trying to go true stealth mode and thinking about adding either some resonators or slim type "bullet" mufflers.

They look identical, but does one reduce sound over the other??

depends how the resonator/muffler is desined.
different brands will muffle the sound differently, thus some are more quiet than others.
also depends where you are putting the resonators and if they will fit.

what is your exhaust setup now?
if you are looking for quiet, what about Magnaflow mufflers. those are quiet.

JBA shorty headers, 3 inch cut outs and stock mufflers.

I am thinking of putting a set of either resonators or those bullet type mufflers between the cut outs and mufflers.

Loud for the track, whisper quiet for everyday use

Are those Magnaflows quieter than stock??

I'll most likely get the Pypes Bullet style mufflers and set them between the cut outs and the stock axle backs.

They should do the trick...

I have headers, o/r H-pipe; Pypes m-80s along with the stock axle back mufflers. When the car is warmed up the noise is close to stock level again.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the ONLY one still using stock mufflers:-)

Are magnaflows quieter than Am Thunder Flowmasters? What about gibsons, (they can be had for $275). I am trying to real it in a little more.

magnaflow mufflers are more quiet than stock, IMO.
I'm thinking that swapping to a more quiet muffler will be an easier swap than welding in some resonators/bullet mufflers.
but with stock mufflers and M80's, that'll be quiet too.

I don't mind the install (resonators, Magnaflows) if the desired outcome is achieved. I want WHISPER QUIET

I had the whole loud/wake the dead sound, now I just want to be under the radar..
