Ford sync trouble
So I bought the Ford Sync kit from ebay and installed it myself. Everything works fine, bluetooth streamed music and bluetooth phone hands free. But to get the voice command controls to work the dealer has to program it. I took it to the dealer and it costs $250 to get it programmed. Fine, though I have seen other posts on the internet of lower prices but usually those were dealerships in different states.
Anyway they are having difficulty programming it. Their equipment says that it can't find the sync module in the car. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this issue. I have it wired exactly the way it says to in the instructions but the PDF file was made in 2008 anyway. I'm having to pay the dealer another couple hundred bucks to check the wiring. I have read on some other forums that the dealer took all day to figure it out but they didn't specifically state what the cause of the problem was.
Does anyone have experience with this behavior when trying to link up Ford equipment to program the Sync module?
