Super charger with frpp intake manifold
Wanting to get a supercharger for my 2010 and i have a frpp intake manifold. I was looking at the paxton high output but brenspeed says it wont fit with the themostat housing unless i switch the hoses, housing, and crossover to 05/06 style and some people say you can just trim the manifold to fit yet i havent seen anyones pictures that has done it so it seems like they have no clue but are assuming it will work. Next choice is procharger any modifications needed to use that with the ford racing manifold? Any real evidence or pictures would be highly appreciated.

With a 05 - 06 Mustang you can trim the manifold as pictured here:
With a 07 - 10 it is a bit more complicated because Paxton/Vortech provide a spacer that goes between the thermostat housing and block. This spacer has the effect of rotating the thermostat housing neck a few degrees clockwise to allow the thermostat hose to clear the SC pulley.
These show the spacers, thermostat housing and the FRPP Intake sitting on the housing not seating on the cylinder heads.
Here is how I modified my thermostat housing to eliminate the spacer while still clearing the SC pulley.
Thermostat housing marked for cutting.
Thermostat housing cut.
Thermostat housing welded.
FRPP Intake now seats properly.
All done. Mine is a Vortech car but the spacer issue is the same with a Paxton.

Excellent info just what i needed now when you cut the housing did you just turn the piece 180 and weld it or did you give it some more angle? Also how much are you clearing your pulley by now? enough to go bigger if you want?
Any word on a procharger seems like you could just turn the housing to avoid anything in the way i think they can be adjusted. Just weighing my options here.

Just figured id drop an update in here i ended up going with a procharger and there are no issues with the frpp manifold fitment or any special modifications needed other than some cutting of the bumper. Car made 544 hp and 445 tq and has been detuned some for the time being. But now ill soon be installing a paxton on my friends 08 so this thread will come in handy on his install.
