I have a 88 Mustang and have dropped a 2.3L turbo from 86 T-bird in it. I cannot get it to crank!! I've gotten the harness from the tbird and used it and the computer from the t-bird and swapped between t-bird and mustang harnesses and computers!! i'm so frustrated and confused. I have also tried wiring the vehicle up without turbo working just to be able to drive it, but nothing. If you have any Information or have done this yourself Please Let Me Know What I Can Do!!!!
Thanks In Advance,

Not a lot of info there! Please be specific. The car won't turn over at all or it turns over but doesn't fire? You can't just swap in an '86 TC computer and harness and expect it to run. You need to toss the TC harness and repin your Mustang harness. Also, it'd be best if you dumped the '86 computer and picked up an LA3 from an '87-'88 TC.

Like pointed out put the Mustang harness back in. Pin in the vam. Now there is a difference between the LA,LB, 8UA, computers. The vam pins in differant than them. Using the small vam from the 86. Need to rewire to. Tech article for "P" series computer. http://mustangforums.com/forum/4-cyl...rticles-2.html
Here is pinout comparasion. http://www.gt350mustang.com/eecspecsturbo.htm
Just look at the differences of the 86 to the 87-88 turbocoupe. This is the setup I started with. Also this has happen before. You must have the vam hose to turbo connected. Went thru a long post awhile back and only reason wouldn't start vam hose had not been installed yet. Maurice
ok I talked to a guy about it and he said cut the harness on the TC and chg the pinout on the Mustang leaving the same wiring harness in it but scrap the VAM... is that right???
and also change the computer to the TC one ( Figured that)
well right now the engine is for some reason flooding (unknown why)
Remove Mustang computer.
Install TC computer.
Use Mustang wiring harness.
Repin Mustang harness.
DO NOT scrap the VAM! You need it to meter air to the motor!
Cut the 4-wire VAM connector from the TC harness and splice that into your Mustang harness according to the first link in mg man75's post.
