how long have you had the car. have they worked before? if not the switch has went bad and someone pulled the wire so it would still work with no brights. just a guess.

when that switch goes bad, the one you tried to plug it into, you can pull that wire just so you can still drive the car and the brights, instead of always on, wont work at all. id check into that switch. you have a short there or its bad id say.
