I have never heard of a gear hurting the transmission. Make sure he knows the gear goes in the rear end. I have seen drivers with gears hurt their trannys

The 4.10's themselves will not hurt the trans..... Hitting the gas with traction and\or doing the 1-2-1-3 shifting shuffle could hurt the AOD.....

it will be easier on it actually....less load.

do a shift kit and 3000 converter and you'll be a happy camper.

the shiftt kit not only makes quiker shifts...it oils the parts way better...thats why it shifts quicker . it dries it out to shift smooth otherwise.
