My smog pump was removed and I dont get the CEL.
You can pull codes without a code reader.

removed my smog and have no CEL either, for a CEL i would assume you have to some thing that's electronically controlled, like EGR for instance.

ORIGINAL: 68 falcon

I just wouund a 5/8x1 coarse bolt into a E7TE head and it split.
Take no one at their word online.

Please tell me what thread that actually is.

thanks,

John.

Well... My word is 5/8 x 11 (course 5/8, just like you used) and you probably cracked it because you either cross-threaded it or didn't clean your threads first.

How in the world did this thread come back up, its over a year old...haha.

My smog pump is long gone with no problems. And yes, the 5/8s is the correct size.

This is what happens when noobs actually bother to use the search function.... then they call out the person who gave the answer... telling them that they are wrong

adder i bet he used the wrong thread pitch and tried forcing it in. then again he probably didnt care enough to chase the threads before he tried. btw if ya hear of any newbies looking for parts or any of these guys i pulled my 306 and everything is for sale on it except the block. im starting the 347 stroker now. ive got billet ac delete bracket and pulley along with smog delete pulley and bracket and a set of mac titanium underdrives. oh yea and lastley, my bud burned a piston up at the track saturday night in a huge race and 5 of us changed motors in 20 minutes. not to shabby huh. my finger is massively lacerated from that thrashing though.

why thanks adder, i thought you would appreciate that. although the motor was already ready to go in and it was in an outlaw sprint car [8D] it was still quick.
