Stupid Question about Shi
The purpose is to "go fast". That's why you practice speed shifting first, remember you back off the gas and then get back in it. Then progress to power shifting when you get good. This has nothing to do with missing a shift and blowing the tranny, as you can do that either way you shift, as well as blow the motor over revving when you miss a power shift. A good ignition with a rev limiter is good in this case. Just don't forget why you're doing it in the first place. To WIN a race, where a couple of tenths may count. If you're worried about blowing up equipment, then don't race.

Stupid Question about Shi
makarovboy has a good point. if you don't want to break it don't race it. But if you do race it give it hell. I race mine and i always powershift it. You should make sure you're good at shifting before doing it. If you can't get in gear smoothly with letting off the gas you sure as hell don't want to try it with your foot to the floor. Even if you're good at shifting you're still gonna miss some shifts every once in a while.
