try putting it in neutral and shutting it off
also spray inside the key wit wd-40 and try to move the key around
get creative
steering column isnt hard to come apart, i took mine out in 5 minutes. had to replace the key also. cost me $14 for the cylinder and 2 keys

In all seriousness, the steering column is really easy to take apart, just 2 screws to get the cover off, and everything is right there. It shouldn't be too bad. Also, there was a recall on the ignition switches for our cars, make sure you get that taken care of, it's free at any Ford dealer.

Well you do know about the little button on the bottom of the collum that you have to press in to allow it to turn out. I am guessing so since you have quite a few posts on here, but just a thought.
