I had mine stick too but it was because my cable had started to fray just before the plastic tube and when i hit the gas it would move inside the tube and stick sometimes, i didn't know it until one day when i was driving on the freeway and it stuck for good, not fun.

ORIGINAL: 89 5.0 Mustang

The same think happens to me after i put the pedal to the floor. Mostly on a hot day. Should i just buy a new throttle cable? The plastic is cracking and the guy befor me just put a bunch of electric tape around it.

Ouch blackstang, that sucks!

89 5.0 Mustang, mine does the same thing.. when I floor it, only sometimes, the rpm with stick to 2k or so...and I I either have to shut it off and restart the car, or I can just wait and keep driving and it will eventually go back down. After spraying some wb40 on the butterfly/tb, mine got a lot smoother, however, I didnt take it out and floor it, so Ill try.. if I remember, to let you know how it goes and if it fixed that too.

Yea thanks, it definatly sucks, and is alittle embarrasing when trying to start rolling the car and shooting up to 2000 just to go. But thank you
