Default yep, burning oil...

So its official, I guess I figured out where my oil is going, I came back today and started my car up for the first time in 5 days and it burnt oil for about 40 sec...

Guessing this was oil burning off in my cylinders, possibly dripping down from the valve rings? Any ideas?

Would lowering my timing help any, thinking of dropping it back to 10* so i can run 87 octane with no worries...

Timing is not an issue. There are no such things (atleast I've never heard of them) as valve rings. Sounds like valve stem seals. Does it smoke on decelleration?
