Default uppper intake

im taking out my upper intake tomarrow so i can replace the gasket and valve cover gaskets. anything else i can do while its off any time of tune up i can do????

Inspect your pushrods and valve train...since I am assuming you are doing what most would do and pull the valve covers off to get to the valve cover gaskets

check rocker arms for wear, make sure all the bolts for rockers havent loosened any, clean the throttle body, clean I.A.C.

Yeah, clean the TB! Nows as good a time as any to replace plugs, wires, filters..providing it hasnt been done lately.

what do you mean by filters .... and what should i look for when looking at the rockers and valve train and should i tightin the bolts in there if they are loose?

if they are loose i would retorque them by proper procedure and specs. look for chips or scars on rocker arms and check pushrods for any scaring or abnormal wear or bends in worst case. you can also move the rockers back and forth by hand by giving them a shake back and forth to check for slop. look for cracked or damaged springs. check that throttle body and upper plenum for signs of excessive blow by. check the pcv valve also, it will be at the back of the intake and it wouldnt hurt to go ahead and change it and the screen for it.
