Default Installing the dipztick tube. Part II???????

I went to the parts store yesterday to buy a dipstick for my '85GT. Somewhere along the line.... someone installed an older 302 in the car. So my dipstick tube comes out of the block up by the water pump. Do all mustang 5.0's dipsticks come out of the pan? Because my altenator bracket is in the way of me putting the dipstick there. It's still got a mustang double-sump pan on it. But there's no dipstick to be found. If anyone's got some ideas. Let me know. I'd like to check my oil. [:@]I hate stupid people!

I guess i don't if the 85's dipsticks are in the same place as my 89. Mine is on the left side a little more than 1/2 the way back on the lower part of the block, not the pan.

sounds like yours is sticking into the timing cover if i read that correctly, which only works properly if you have a front sump pan (which you dont)
