Light bolt-on upgrades

RE: Light bolt-on upgrades
Stock gears in a 94 are 2.73's or 3.08. Ibought the car with3.55's in it,and I would not go any higher for a DD, but that is just my perference. Some times I wishI had some 3.27's Even adding 3.27's to a 2.73's car should be a decent improvement.
I added an catted H-pipe to my 94and it helped out a lot with power and sound, I strongly recommend it. I got it for ~$310 form Summit Racing, and paid $130 to have it installed. If you plan on getting Long Tube Headers it won't work, but it all depend on you r final goal. Dont add UDP's if you plan on S/C.
Another thing to remember is the maintenice, clean the T.B and make sure the MAF wire is clean. Changing the fuel filter, spark plugs and ignition parts like the wires(I used Ford Racing 9mm ~$40) and the cap and rotor all need to be in good shape before you start adding speed part. I also changed the trans and axle fluid to Royal Purple products. Make sure the airfilter is cleaned and recharged with a kit like K&N's, it should work on any filter requiring oiling.

RE: Light bolt-on upgrades
Just to warn you, you may not like the 3.55s. Some 94/95 stangs came with 3.27 gears so that's not a big difference at all. Mine came with 3.27s. An easy way to find out.. look on the stocker on the driver's side door / frame and look for the letter under or beside "AX". That is your Axle code and that will tell you what gears you have.
Next to / Under "AX" you will see one of the following characters... 8, E, M, Z. Here's what they mean:
8=2.73 conventional differential (not for the 5.0s unless someone swapped a 5.0 into the chassis)
E=3.27 Traction Lok limited slip differential
M=2.73 Traction Lok limited slip differential
Z=3.08 Traction Lok limited slip differential
