intake backfire STILL
for a while my 88 has had this backfire from the intake when i giver gas. yesturday i started the car up, waited a couple of minutes then reved it, it was the strongest rev i have ever seen my car do, after that i put my foot a bit down slowely and i could tell the engine was ready to do a intake backfire-the idle bogs a bit when you give it gas- so i let off, then i gave it gas - foot up and down up to maybe 3000 rpm about 3-4 times and every time it backfired throught the intake. im starting to get afraid because i dont want to melt a hole through a piston or something.
i bought a fuel filter, crawled under the car and the filter looked fairly good, im going to change it anyways today.
right now i dont know what to look at, any help would be great, car has full exhaust, and new sparkplugs, cap n rotor, and wires

First, make sure the plug wires are routed correctly on the cap.
Second, check your timing. Should be between 10 and 14 degrees.
Third, check for vacuum leaks. While the car is running, spray carb cleaner around intake manifold, vacuum line connections, and see if the idle changes.
My guess is 2 plugs wires are crossed.

RE: intake backfire STILL
Are you running cheap wires or are any of them damaged? If so then it's possible that the spark could be jumping and causing a plug to fire at the wrong time. It doesn't happen too often, but I've seen it with crappy wires that are melted, cut, or otherwise damaged and are touching each other.

i have taylor wires on her. there the only wires that fit next to the shorty headers. what do you mean by having 2 wires crossed, the wires are about 2 months old, and they all are on the correct spots.
i will check timing to see what thats running at.
