TPS, IAC adjustment.

TPS, IAC adjustment.
I just rebuilt my engine and everything seems to be ok but the idle is a little off beat. Can someone tell me how to check and adjust the TPS and IAC. Also what do you think the timing should be. I got it on 14 now but I'm wondering if I should bump it to 16.

RE: TPS, IAC adjustment.
take a razor and make a small cut into the green wire coming out of the tps on top of the throttle body. put the positive lead from a voltmeter to that and the negative to a metal surface. voltage with the key in the ignition turned and engine off should be 0.98 volts. if it isnt, unscrew the two screws and turn the unit it reads 0.98, you might have to take a dremel and cut notches to move the assembly a little more than it can go.

you don't have to cut into the wire, just use a paper clip to back probe the wire where it goes into the connector and makes contact, then you should be able to read the voltage and set it to .98 volts with the key on, engine off. there is not adjustment on the IAC, just make sure it is clean on the inside and free to move like it needs to in order to function correctly.

K so I took the harness off of the TB (the small one and the big one) with the car running car off with the key on ect.. and it still idles around 2K with ac on or 2400 without. Do you feel that the IAC could be the problem? Maybe I should just replace it
