Default balancing rotating assembly?

hey guys,

Iam going to pick up my 351 shortblock this weekend. It has pistons that i can't use. I was wondering ifI have to balance the rotating assembly afterI install new forgies? i dont know if it has been balanced or not right now.It's not a need to do is it?

I am asking the guy now if the assembly was balanced for the setup it has now. So i read if the new pistons are a difference of up to 50 grams it should be fine, and no need for re-balancing is needed.

ok the crank has been balanced before, but if my pistons are within 50 grams heavier must i re-balance it??

Man, i would get it balanced regardless. But that is just me, i would not want to assemble that engine then find out you should have done it.

They can weight match the pistons to your old ones and press em on the rods, its a one day service. $80 +
